Finding Help to Stop Anxiety Attacks
In the United States alone, millions of people struggle with anxiety attacks. Unfortunately, these attacks often come on suddenly regardless of location. If you have anxiety attacks, then you know all too well that in addition to messing with your mind, these attacks are also physically difficult.
People with this problem cannot get through school, most people struggle at work, and trying to maintain a family is overwhelming. Instead of suffering, you need to talk to your doctor to see what can be done to stop anxiety attacks form occuring and so you can get the attacks under control.
Typically, physical symptoms that normally accompany an anxiety attack are stomach pains, chest pains, overwhelming worry, agitation, and much more. If you work with your doctor, the right type of treatment can be determined. When you visit the doctor, testing can be done to rule out any other serious problem and once the problem is confirmed solely as anxiety attacks, the doctor can prescribe the appropriate treatment.
Today, tremendous research is going on as medical experts and scientists try to find the true trigger for anxiety attacks. While there are different opinions, the one thing that most experts believe is that anxiety attacks are inherited. However, other reasons that are currently being studied include chemical imbalance in the brain, post traumatic stress disorder, and more. Again, no one knows for sure but the anticipation is that an answer will soon be found.
The one thing that everyone agrees on is that certain illnesses are inherited. For instance, neurotransmitters within the brain send out messages so when chemicals within the neurotransmitters are imbalanced, normal communication and function is disrupted. Even a trauma or sudden change in life can also trigger an anxiety attack. As an example, going through a divorce, dealing with the death of a loved one, having a spouse shipped offer to Iraq, and so on are all contributors to the development or worsening of anxiety attacks.
If you suffer from this problem, chances are you noticed that during the attack, you had heartburn or a stomachache. Most people that deal with anxiety disorders that lead to full blown attacks feel as if they are dying. In some instances, the attack is so severe that the individual is taken by ambulance to the hospital believing he/she is suffering from a heart attack. From the very first anxiety attack you have, get medical help.
Remind yourself that you do not have to suffer. With proper treatment, you can once again live a normal, happy life.
